Keith Nye, in his own words: a finance director who evaluated the model like an investment, then opened Saber Core Light Sword Academy in Norwich, Connecticut.

The academy we didn't build

In 2026, a man named Keith Nye opened a martial arts academy in Norwich, Connecticut.

Here is what makes that sentence worth your next four minutes. Keith had never trained on our floor. He never flew out to meet us. Nobody got him on a "strategy call." He read the model, completed his entire certification online, and then opened Saber Core Light Sword Academy: the first academy in our network that we did not build ourselves.

Think about what that actually requires. A business model documented so completely that a capable leader can pick it up, read it, check the math, and execute it in his own city. Not a feeling. Not a franchise pitch over dinner. A written system.

The document Keith evaluated before his decision is, in essence, what this $27 kit puts in your hands.

The two ceilings, and the third insult

If you run a school, gym, studio or local business, you already know this

Ceiling one: the single-revenue-stream business. A traditional martial arts school sells tuition, and maybe a pro shop in the corner. Industry estimates commonly put a majority of US martial arts schools under $100K a year in gross revenue. Class size, teacher hours and trial-student churn cap the whole thing. It's a service, and services don't scale.

Ceiling two: the capital wall. The entertainment-venue model (the big competitive-socializing concepts) earns hard per square foot, but the ticket to play is a $4-15M build-out and a commercial lease. The economics scale; the entry price keeps almost everyone out.

And the third insult: every "business opportunity" that promises a way around those ceilings makes you sit through a webinar, book a call, and survive a pitch before anyone shows you a number.

Here's the reframe the kit is built on: you don't have a revenue problem. You have an architecture problem. And architecture can be read on paper.

The Academy Model

The Academy Model is the business architecture underneath every license we sell. It takes the recurring tuition and rank-progression retention of a martial arts school, and the per-event economics of an entertainment venue, and runs BOTH on a floor you don't lease, don't build and don't maintain: a city rec center gymnasium. The equipment fits in an SUV and sets up in about 25 minutes.

Eight independent revenue streams, one 36-square-foot floor:

Academy tuition, the recurring bedrock
The Saber Tag league, seasons and rankings
The $25 Saturday Day Pass
Private lessons
Birthday parties and events
A three-slot local sponsor program
Pro-shop and merchandise
Rank test fees

Here is one mechanism from the kit, free, so you can judge the thinking: the Conversion Bridge. A stranger pays $25 to walk into a Saturday Day Pass event. They play. Then a scripted four-step follow-up moves them from walk-in to enrolled student. At our founding academy, roughly 80% of drop-ins converted to paid enrollment within 60 days. The Day Pass isn't really a revenue stream. It's a demand engine dressed as one, and it's the reason the tuition stream never starves.

That's one mechanism of the eight. The kit walks all of them, and then it does the thing nobody else does on page one: it shows you the illustrative P&L, line by line, with an honest note about what Year 1 actually looks like. Clearly labeled, no inflation, and you'll read it before you've spent more than $27.

What $27 puts in your hands

Part one

The Academy Model, Taught Lesson by Lesson

Thirty-nine lessons across seven modules. The two broken categories, each of the eight streams in its own lesson with worked examples and worksheets, the full illustrative P&L read line by line with an honest Year 1 ramp, breakeven and cash flow you can fill in yourself, the six capital-efficiency levers, and WISE, the operating system that runs the training so you don't have to be a martial artist. Diagrams, charts and photos from a real floor, written at a pace anyone can follow.

Part two

The Academy Launch Checklist

Ten steps in strict order, each one its own lesson with a checklist, a tracking table or a calendar: from pitching your rec center for a no-lease floor to filling your sponsor slots, plus the first 90 days week by week and the numbers to watch. Mark what you already have, and what's left is your actual runway. Most readers discover it's shorter than they assumed.

Sifu Edward and Sifu Julliana Armstrong

You've probably never heard of us

Fair. So don't take our word for anything: every claim on this page is checkable. Sifu Edward Armstrong built the Light Sword Training Academy from zero, 68 students in his first six months, was named Entrepreneur of the Year, is a Board-Certified Tai Chi Instructor and published author, and has been featured on ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox. Sifu Julliana Armstrong is a three-time WEKAF National Champion, a two-time World Champion under GSBA, Team USA 2026, and the first American international referee in the sport. The system has been delivered under contract at Langley AFB and Fort Eustis. Federal contracts don't get signed on vibes; they get signed on documented curriculum. That documentation discipline is what you're buying a piece of.

Proof, in the order an operator needs it

The operator proof

Saber Core Light Sword Academy, Norwich, Connecticut

Opened in 2026 by Academy Operator Partner Keith Nye, who completed his entire certification online before opening his doors. The first academy in the network the Armstrongs did not build themselves: the model, executed by someone else, from the documentation alone.

World map

1,500+ warriors trained since 2015. 60+ five-star reviews. Licensed operators live in Connecticut, Tennessee and Virginia.

The demand proof

A business model only matters if the end product fills the floor. Before you read a single lesson, hear the voice that will be filling YOUR Saturday Day Pass events:

"As a 15-year traditional martial artist, I was skeptical. After one session I understood. This is a complete, legitimate system. The 9 forms are grounded in real combat traditions."

Marcus T., student

"Booked a corporate event for 40 people. Everyone from our CFO to our interns were completely locked in for two hours. Best team-building event in five years of trying."

James R., corporate client

"As a woman in martial arts, I've dealt with a lot of uncomfortable environments. LSTA is different. The Code of S.A.B.E.R. creates a culture of respect that I've never experienced anywhere else."

Amanda P., student

"I visited as a tourist in Norfolk. I stayed as a student. Sifu Armstrong is the real deal. This isn't cosplay, it's combat."

Paul N., student

The questions you should be asking

Why is there no sales call?

Because this page is the method. You're reading a written offer and deciding on your own, and that is exactly how the model in the kit sells for you: a $25 Saturday Day Pass, a scripted follow-up, no pressure. If we needed a phone call to sell you a $27 kit, you shouldn't trust the model inside it.

Why is it only $27?

Because the kit is the front door of the exact ladder it teaches. We'd rather have a thousand serious leaders read the real model than gate it behind a $2,000 "mastermind." The economics of the path work because people who like what they read walk up it. Some don't, and their $27 kit is still a fair trade. That's the whole trick, and now you've seen it.

Do I need to be a martial artist?

No. The model separates running the business from delivering the training. Curriculum, rank progression and form review are handled by the operating system and certified instructors. Keith isn't one of our students; he's an operator. The kit explains exactly how that separation works.

Is this a franchise?

No. Everything on the path is a flat-fee, non-exclusive program license. No royalties, no territory, no percentage of your revenue. The kit itself is just a course: read it and decide.

Will the kit tell me how much I'll make?

No, and be careful with anyone who will. The kit shows the illustrative P&L of a mature operation and an honest, clearly labeled note on what Year 1 typically looks like. Your results depend on your market, effort, pricing and execution.

What happens the minute I buy?

You enter your email at checkout, your Club Sabernet account is created automatically, and the kit plus Business Academy Volume I appear in your course library the moment payment clears. Read it tonight.

What does the $27 credit toward?

The Pilot, the $497 six-week program where you prove the model on your own floor. Every dollar on the path credits toward the step above it, all the way up. Nothing you spend is wasted by moving forward.
